.our weak signal

During the very first week of exploration around the city with Design Studio O, we split into groups and played with the Atlas of Weak Signals cards. A deck meant to triggers new thoughts for emergent futures. While playing, the idea we had in our group (myself, Ayal, Heba, Beste, Max, and Aiman) for a new card is: Poisoning Piling
The concept behind is Data poisoning: the deliberate insertion of malicious, misleading, or corrupted data into datasets used to train machine learning or AI models. The goal is to "poison" the model’s learning process so it behaves incorrectly, produces biased or nonsensical outputs, or even leaks sensitive data.
The concept was inspired by this really interesting practice of Benn Jordan, you can find the article here.

During the second session, few months later, we played again in the same group we formed the first time. This time we came up with the idea of Open Source Sufficiency. We discussed ideas of different kinds of artifacts and services that might emerge in this future context. What took shape wasn’t a single category but an overlapping set of practices and spaces, somewhere between maker culture, hands-on workshops, solarpunk ideals, and eco-village and itentional communities. This included things like fab labs, the broader Maker Movement, right-to-repair initiatives, informal workshops in squatted spaces, and various forms of solarpunk communities, from cities to rural eco-villages. open source card
